La madera de teca ha sido durante mucho tiempo un material preciado entre los ricos y poderosos. Originaria de los trópicos, el árbol de teca se encuentra comúnmente en las naciones del sudeste asiático: Tailandia, Birmania, Malasia y, más comúnmente, Indonesia.
