Rain Bird 5004+ Plus Rotor: The Rain Bird 5004 Plus (+) Flow shutoff – “The Green Top.” rotor is designed to provide efficient and consistent watering with an adjustable spray distance of up to 50 feet. Turn the rotor on/off at the head for easier maintenance. Flush zone and nozzle the rotor without going back and forth to a valve or controller. Troubleshoot for leaks by turning off all the heads in that zone This rotor also has a heavy-duty, stainless steel spring that ensures positive retraction and prevents nozzle damage.
Rain Bird 5004 Pressure Regulation Rotor (PRS): The Rain Bird 5004 Pressure Regulation Rotor includes all the features of the 5004 Plus rotor, with the added benefit of pressure regulation. It maintains a constant pressure of 45 PSI, which helps to prevent misting and ensures that water is applied evenly to the area being irrigated. Ensure even distribution uniformity across the entire zone. This rotor is ideal for areas with high water pressure or where pressure fluctuations are common.
Rain Bird 5004 Check Valve (SAM) Rotor: The Rain Bird 5004 Check Valve (SAM) Rotor also includes a Seal-A-Matic (SAM) check valve, preventing low head drainage and water waste. It is designed for use in areas with significant elevation changes, such as slopes or hills, and provides reliable and consistent watering to these areas. The 5000/5000+ series rotors use the 5000RCTREE
Rotors apply different amounts of water depending on the pattern that they are set to water. For example, a rotor set to water just 1/4 of a circle applies more water in that area than a rotor set to water a full 360º, assuming the nozzles are the same.
Changing nozzles can help even out the amount of water being sprayed between rotors that are set for different patterns. This will help maintain a healthier lawn and save water.
- Nozzle tree includes various standard angle Rain Curtain and low angle nozzles:
- Low angle: 1.0. 1.5, 2.0 and 3.0
- Rain Curtain: 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 8.0
- Fits all Rain Bird 5000 series Rotors including the 5004PC, 5004FC, 5004+PC, 5004+FC, 5006+PC, 5006+FC, 5012+PCSAMR and 42SA+ Plus and 52SA Series Rotors
Overall, the Rain Bird 5004 and5004+ Plus (+) rotor is ideal for general-purpose irrigation, while the Pressure Regulation Rotor (PRS) and Check Valve (SAM) rotor are better suited for areas with high water pressure or significant elevation changes. All three rotors are durable, reliable, and easy to install, making them an excellent choice for any irrigation project. By understanding the differences between these rotors, you can select the best one for your specific needs and ensure that your lawn or garden is properly watered and maintained.
