Set brightness/CCT: 2700–3000K feels cozy; target 20–60 lm on stairs and 60–120 lm for task edges.

Plan spacing: step lights every 3–4 treads (or one per tread); under-rail ~3–5 ft between nodes; post caps on each post or alternating.
